The Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey, died at the age of 67 years on Monday (01/18/2016). He is a guitarist and co-author of the lyrics for the song The Eagles most famous, "Hotel California".
The song became a hit in 1977 and entered the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also included in The 500 Greatest Song of All Time magazine Rolling Stone, at number 49. Solo guitar the song was ranked as the 8th Top 100 Guitar Solo of All Time in Guitar Magazine.
Behind the success, many also say that this song is full of mystery and controversy. According to one rumor, the song is related to the establishment of the Church of Satan (the Church of Satan) by Anton LaVey. Hotels mentioned was said to be a gathering of people who worship the devil.
The lyrics are also said to have meaning and power of the oath of the followers of the teachings. However, the members of The Eagles denied if the song was said to have the meaning of satanic as mentioned.
The Eagles said, this song tells about the life and dreams come true in California. Incidentally, The Eagles also came from there."We are all children of the working class of the Midwest. 'Hotel California' is the journey of our life in Los Angeles," said Don Henley in an interview with Rolling Stone.
"'Hotel California' is a song about the dark side of the 'American Dream' and all that 'excessive' in America. Something we all know," he continued.
Negative interpretation of this song also became stronger after snippets of lyrics "They stab it with Reviews their steely knives, but they just can not kill the beast," which he said showed how strong the devil. In fact, a fragment of lyrics it is a tribute to the band Steely Dan. The Eagles Steely Dan mentions in the song "Everything You Did", with snippets of lyrics to "Turn up the Eagles, the neighbors are listening."
